Spring Break: Day Four: Nothing and Minigolf

April 5, 2007 1:18 AM

e sat around a lot on our fourth day in Florida. I don't think any of us minded. We watched some TV, I finished High Fidelity, which was great, and we generally relaxed. Our pool kicks ass.

After doing approximately nothing for the whole day, most of us (Purple Hays excluded because she had to do "work") went and played mini golf. As was to be expected, I didn't do very well, although I did better than Mr. Utah, who pretty much stank up the whole place. The winner, I believe, was Mr. Vice.

More importantly, however, was the fact that we were faced with one of the worst parents I've ever seen. She may or may not have been drunk or on some sort of drug (for her sake, I hope she was--I'd hate to think that someone could be that stupid without being drunk), and she verbally abused and insulted her son. It was really very, very sad and depressing, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. But, you know, more on that later.

We had previously made a blood oath to get drunk last night, and we kept it. L-Dawg led the charge by getting, well, beligerent. We played some asshole, a game which X-tina loves and L-Dawg hates, which pretty much meant it was awesome. Also, L-Dawg wouldn't shut the fuck up about poker. But that's what he does and that's why we love him.

At the end of the night, some of us went down to a park by our house. It's a baseball diamond with an announcer's booth that we like to hang out in. We're calling it "the dock" as a reference to the dock by L-Dawg and X-tina's place--even though it's not a dock at all. We hung out down there for a while, talking about various things--mostly about how I've become the latest version of Utah.

I don't know if I am, but it was a great day.
