ome time ago, I posted about what I thought of The Smashing Pumpkins' new song, Tarantula. As it turns out, the song is mediocre and, although my hopes had not been high, it confirmed that the new album probably wouldn't be that great.
Well today, thanks to some anonymous poster, I know that the picture on the cover of the single for that song features Paris motherfucking Hilton. Why? How the fuck should I know?
Here's the fucking cover:
.
I swear to god, Billy Corgan--what the fuck?

Hey, did you hear that Zeitgeist is being released in three different versions. Target, Best Buy, and iTunes each get a version of the album with a song exclusive to that store. All other stores get no bonus songs. To get the title track of the album you have to go to Target. Check it out http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/43795-smashing-pumpkins-to-fans-indie-stores-fuck-you
Man, what a big sell-out. I haven't liked the Pumpkins since Gish, so I'll say what the SP fans are loathe to admit: Billy and the gang are big, phony self-absorbed tools of a incrementally failing business model that is sputtering towards full transition at a pace only a horseless carriage could admire. Screw Metallica and SP and whoever else is out there failing real music fans with this horseshit.
I'd love very much to defend The Smashing Pumpkins right now, but I just can't think of any way to do so. The best I can say right now is that Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie are two of the best albums of all time.
I'll second your love of Siamese Dream, but Melon Collie is a self-indulgent bore.
Sorry, but that is kind of completely hilarious. Have you been able to find any explanation of why they put her on the cover?
as if we don't see enough of her!
