That's Madison
December 15, 2008 8:46 AM
esterday and last night, it was so warm that I was afraid the city would flood because of all the melting snow. Snow banks were reduced to large puddles, and the ground was once again visible.
This morning, it's as if the sun went out and the Earth is floating around in the cold harshness of space untethered to any star.
I love this city.

Anecdotal evidence is about as credible as O.J. Simpson, but I still found it interesting.
Also, though I readily admit that I don't know shit about global warming, I thought it had more to do with large-scale climate over long periods of time. Is it really responsible for relatively short-term, localized temperature shifts like the one that happened here yesterday? Or has it entered the popular mentality to such a degree that it's the new "evil spirits"--an easy explanation for things we don't like or understand?
